M.S. Aerospace Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology

Research Interests:

  • Spacecraft attitude dynamics and control

  • Spacecraft structures and mechanisms

  • Spacecraft design

Mr. Daniel has worked as a contractor at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, primarily focused on attitude control tasks for the Submillimeter Wave Astronomy Satellite. He also worked on the Indostar communications satellite for a precursor company to Orbital ATK. He spent 15 years as a specialist for the multibody dynamics simulation code ADAMS (Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems) modeling applications such as space mechanism deployments and attitude control of flexible spacecraft.

Mr. Daniel was a civilian Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the United States Naval Academy for five years where he taught classes such as Spacecraft Systems, Spacecraft Design, Attitude Dynamics and Control, Astrodynamics I, and Aerospace Structures I.

Prior to his graduate studies at Georgia Tech, he received an undergraduate degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT.
